Next steps for PfP

After a successful initial event in NYC in August, the Protocols for Publishers initiative is being stood up as an independent initiative, a community of practice at the intersection of new protocol development and publishing on the open web.

Attendees to our first Summit in New York expressed interest in keeping in touch with the community and gave feedback that a newsletter would be the easiest way to keep in touch. We also circulated a list of contact information for Summiteers so conversations could continue in person.

Furthermore, community members based in Europe also expressed a desire to to convene and discuss similar issues. To this end we are exploring options for early 2026. Please check out the Events page for upcoming events and a poll.

This new Protocols for Publishers site will serve as a hub for discussions around publishing on the open web in an age of centralized social and AI platforms. Sign up to the newsletter to stay in the loop. Here is what you can expect:

  • 1-2 newsletters a month with updates from around the web about advancements in this new publishing environment
  • online events with protocol developers and publishers sharing their research and experiments
  • announcement for upcoming in-person events and summits
